The development team working on Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 has opened a survey asking fans of the series who have played this year's version of the football game to tell them how they feel about the gameplay mechanics and how they think they can be improved for next year.

The questions are very detailed and will help the developers design a better videogame in 2010, the year of the South African World Cup.
Shingo “Seabass” Takatsuka, who is one of the executive producers on the Pro Evolution Soccer series, has said of the initiative that “We're about to start that process all over again with the release of an online questionnaire. Remember the more useful info we can get from you, the better PES will become. Anything that can't be included into the next version will be considered for future versions. As executive producer I've got plenty of ideas I'm already working on, but believe me your feedback, both as football fans and PES fans, is crucial.”
Questions in the survey include: “Would you like the pace of the game to be slower or faster?” “Based on Top Player setting would you like the difficulty of the game to be easier or harder?” “Would you like the referees to be more or less strict?” and “Would you like the Goalkeepers to be more or less skilful?"
The last questions of the fan survey are related to the purchase intent for both PES 2011 and FIFA 2011, the rival football franchise created by EA Sports. Most reviewers agree that in the last few years, FIFA has been taking over the title of best simulation from PES, mainly because the Konami series has not been too interested in introducing new ideas. PES 2011 will probably be a different game, with at least some of the features based on feedback from players.
